Today … YES TODAY (psst. it’s a camp tradition) we are looking at the third L252 Challenge which is about our relationship with God.  Specifically. living with God as a part of everyday choices.

What an important and relevant challenge for you and me.  Too, often we shoot up a quick morning prayer and don’t slow down until our heads hit the pillow … rarely thinking of God in our day.  You know, “Whoops, sorry God, but thanks for being with me today, right?”

Well, time out … let’s hold our horses … the first fact is that God has given us our very heartbeat, breath and life.  Secondly, He is not far off or uninvolved … remember that His name is Emmanuel “God is with us.”

So when we choose to live a “with-God” life then everything changes.  Yep, we start off by embracing that –“ it’s not about me, but it’s about Him (God; Lord Jesus)” which gives us FREEDOM to “Live and Love from the INsideOUT!”  Know that our God is a wooing, pursuing God who absolutely loves and adores us!

What’s our response?  We can’t help but respond with gratitude in our attitudes and actions, thoughts and speech.

Let’s, put this privilege of daily living with God being a part of our everyday choices by using these HIGH FIVE DO BE’s

  • Be aware of why God has allowed this situation … Is He leading, warning, growing us?
  • Be alert to where God is leading in this situation … Should we listen, speak up, stand up?
  • Be mindful of what God’s heart is in this situation … Is it compassion, resolve, healing?
  • Be intentional of how God is asking you to act in this situation … Should we pray, provide, protect?
  • Be obedient to when God is stirring a response in this situation … Should we wait, go for it, accept change?

Here are some practical tips:

  1. Set your hourly watch chime to remind you that God is actively involved.
  2. Write a scripture or a God characteristic on your bathroom mirror each week.
  3. Set an extra table setting once a week and consider it God’s place.
  4. While putting on your clothes think of them as the Armor of God and thank Him for His protection (see Eph. 6).
  5. When needing to choose JOY or an attitude adjustment … say, “Praise the Lord, anyway!”

Fun assignment:  Have each family member write down 10 ways you can each live for God each day.  Share your answers and tally up your scores: 1 point for each item that is shared by another member and 3 pts for every idea that is not replicated.  Total up the scores then the winner gets a bowl of Blue Bell ice cream topped with chocolate syrup and M&M’s.  If there is a tie … hmm, have a competition eating out of the bowl without using any hands – FUAGNEM!

God is good … all the time!
All the time … God is good!

You know it!
