Time is a fascinating truth that waits on no one….it keeps on ticking. We value our time especially when it is spent on folks and activities that are not high on our priority list. Let’s stop, look and listen as to why God has brought across our day the need to learn how to love others well.
Why spend valuable, precious time loving others when it costs? "Others centered living" is so uncommon and unusual that when we see it or experience it-- it makes a real IMPACT. Our actions and reactions, attitudes and gratitude, verbal and non verbal all communicate our values. Do our values really reflect our hearts?
Tough time moments can entail spending time with elderly family members, the awkward or perhaps annoying child or neighbor, enduring a holiday party, visitations that just aren’t fun or "socially in." I’ve been in conversations that went on and on after I had started looking for an exit during the first sentence. Shame on me! We need to listen well with our whole body: ears, eyes and face.
Giving of our time to love others even when it is not easy or necessarily fun always has a way of turning out to be a blessing. Blessing others never is a waste of our God given time and energy. Try it.
Time spent reveals our hearts' intentions, values and priorities – how well do they match up with God’s?
Have we recently considered who is the giver of time … hmmmm. Scripturally consider Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8, Esther 4: 14 and John 13: 34, 35.
God is the giver of time- use it wisely. Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year!

Johnny, Thanks for taking time to sharing this reminder. New Year's Eve is a great time to assess the time that we share with others. After all it's His time, not ours.
Blessings in 2010.
