Applying scripture in daily life is a “get to” versus a “have too”. Not everyone can easily memorize scripture, but everyone can relate to a scripture each day. Start writing down your favorite scriptures on a 3x5 card and watch out – you’re about to see them come to life. You don’t have to look very far to find them in action such as “and be thankful” or “rejoice in the Lord always” and then there’s the “whatever’s” in Philippians 4:4-10 and Colossians 3:17, 23.
When scripture comes alive - you come alive. It is so compelling to see a scripture “play out” before your very eyes in your daily spaces and places. How about today, yes today, “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path” (that’s a promise) Proverbs 3:5, 6.
Camp has a wonderful way of applying scripture to all that we do through the lives of our staff and in our words, thoughts and actions. Your family is a great motivator for us to be real and authentic, thanks!
I’ll close with a great T Bar M friend, Dr. Chuck Swindoll’s take and formula on Philippians 4:6.
“BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING (stop worrying about everything),
BUT IN EVERTHING BY PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION
(in addition, start praying about everything)
WITH THANKSGIVING (and don’t forget to be thankful in all things)
LET YOUR REQUEST BE MADE KNOWN TO GOD, AND …”
Formula: Absence of worry + Prevalence of prayer + Spirit of gratitude = PEACE OF GOD
Today, who couldn’t use a little “Peace of God” as we live out His love in action?
Lord, may Your Word come alive in all that we say and do, not just today but every day. Amen

Amen to that, Brother Johnny: ""There is no way that Christians, in a private capacity, can do so much to promote the work of God and advance the kingdom of Christ as by prayer." Jonathan Edwards.
