Summer is picking up the pace and here at Camp we have been experiencing community which we call UN1TAS! It is a call for Christ-followers to come together and strengthen our serve as we live out the 11th commandment (John 13:34, 35). Our camp worship and teaching has been incredible, inspiring, relevant and life changing according to our campers and staff (I’ve experienced it myself as well). The great thing about T Bar M Camps is we are Christ-centered Adventure and your Adventure continues with Christ back at home, school, church and in your daily doings.

Today’s focus is YOUTH GROUPS. They are essential for healthy growth as young men and ladies (MAC’s & WOG’s) need affirmation, instruction, mentors and real community – a spiritual community. You want a Youth Group that has good church support with volunteers that really care, share, and dare to make a difference.

Moms, dads, are you willing to step up to such a role? Invite college students and young marrieds to be involved in listening and leading.  The activities need to be engaging, interesting and include a venue that you would bring a friend to without being embarrassed. The structure has to be Christ centered and that means it must be biblically based.

John 10:10 states that Christ brings “Abundant Life”- teens in particular don’t want boring, dumbed-down, irrelevant material rather an atmosphere that is open, honest and applicable. Great ways to make it relevant are opportunities to serve such as taking some Sundays (any day really) to go out and serve people of their interest (orphanage, elder care, homeless, etc) – stretch’ em, put them in situations where it requires God to be there.

Camper Corner:  MAC’s & WOG’s you are agents of change. Pray up, speak up, step up and DO NOT waste your Youth Group years. Too many of us are self absorbed and are quick to complain. No way!  Not us…bring your ideas, ask for others and then get in there and get dirty by doing the hard work to experience life together by encouraging one another (Hebrews 10:24,25). You can through Christ!
