“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine”, “Hello ladies,” and other traditional phrases can make a girl wonder just what guys are up to. Yep, our lady friends are smart, sharp and their radar system seems to be advanced… maybe up there with NASA. Gentlemen, we need to be mindful and respectful with our words, looks, and the environments we create.
MACs (Men after Christ), as Christ-followers, we’ve got the greatest gift for our lady friends / friend girls – our respect and behavior. This will encourage them to be the greatest WOGS (Women of God) they can be, even in our mixed up culture. Sure most ladies are capable of opening their own door, making dinner choices and are generally a lot better communicators and thinkers than we “Y” chromosomes will admit, but we need them and they need us. God’s DNA for men is to lead, cherish and listen to their partner and in return He has equipped women to complete, elevate and join in together to accomplish great things.
T Bar M Camps is a great place to learn how to treat ladies through our staff and their example. Learning is more effective when modeled; “I’d rather see a sermon than hear one” any day.
Dads, you’ve got the lead here –get off the couch, be attentive with both eyes and ears, take initiative, plan times of giving preference to the ladies in your house, and insist that your son(s) respect their mom and sister(s) in every way: attitudes, actions, words and looks!
Ladies, please allow us to step up. I’m sure you’ve been waiting way too long, but with a little grace we’ll be able to take our place. We want to be honoring, we really do.
Romans 12:9-10 pretty much says it best --the entire chapter represents it all.
