Are you growing “taller inside?”
How’s your internal growth of character, decision making, integrity and confidence? My personal preference is to substitute "confidence" with "CHRISTfidence." This could sound like a Sunday school gimmick, but I assure you that with our privilege to act, react, walk, think and serve like Christ that this “CHRISTfidence” is a helpful focal point. I’m not attempting to create the next WWJD bracelet, but when you choose to think and respond like Christ-- things change.
Our exterior body is visible (like it or not), but our interior body will ultimately determine the longevity, reputation and sustainability of the physical. Mentally, how are you developing? Do you welcome crossword puzzles or” Words with Friends?” Does thinking hard energize you or intimidate you? Thinking through things has huge benefits and impacts your world.
Emotionally, how are you developing? Too many times I just don’t feel. I have come to realize, through self observation, that in certain emotional situations I find that I just don’t feel yet there are other times that I find my tears easily or just laugh hard. I’m pursuing this and chasing down my heart in this matter. Can you laugh, cry, sit and be still, be honest with how things impact you from sad to glad? Tears are sacred, rest is imperative, don’t be afraid to search and express your feelings.
Spiritually, how are you developing? What an important foundation for our entire interior framework. Set the hour chime on your watch to remind you to be aware of your spiritual world and opportunities to trust/love God and others. You’ve got His Word and His Spirit to guard, guide and provide for you. John 16:12-15.
Balance your “inner and outer self “with proper nutrition, appropriate scheduling and intentional disciplines. Just like syncing your phone, sync up daily with God's Word to grow “taller inside” and as you live out the L252 Challenge (Luke 2:52) to grow in wisdom, stature, favor with God and man.
