“Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.” Proverbs 9:9

“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight…” 1 Corinthians 3:19

Wisdom is the intersection of knowledge and action – one who knows and applies truth to daily living can be called wise. Yet, according to Paul’s letter to the believers in Corinth, we have to consider carefully the sources that we consider to be wise.

In the world of parenting, there is no shortage of self-proclaimed experts who speak advice to anyone who will listen. A Google search on “parenting advice” yields over 2 million options! Where do you turn for sound, biblical, and Godly counsel regarding your role as a parent? In this edition of Family Matters, I’d like to provide three web links where you might find voices worth listening to.
1.      Focus on the Family  – OK, you might have opinions – even strong opinions – about the positive or negative effect of a juggernaut ministry like this getting involved in politics and social issues. Whatever your position, don’t rule out this as a tremendous resource on parenting.  Click the link to go straight to their parenting page.
2.      Christian Fathers  - At this site I’ve found insightful articles about fatherhood by men who love the Lord and who have miles of experience parenting boys and girls. At times they’ll even feature an article from a godly woman writing about how we should be acting as fathers.
3.      Moms of Faith - I admit that I’ve not spent a whole lot of time knocking around on websites for moms. Sorry. But I have heard that this website offers loads of articles, blogs, and items relevant for mom’s who desire to parent with faith.

Now it’s your turn! What resources do you find helpful on your parenting journey? Just reply to this email or post a comment on our web page, and share your treasures with us. Maybe together we can grow all the more wise in His eyes.

Revive our hearts is great too!

Hello,

I have a brief editorial question about your recommended resources on your Don't Waste Fun website's page located at http://www.dontwastefun.com/familymatters/694/parenting-resources

My name is Ellen and I'm trying to educate single mothers about different grant opportunities available to them. Your website lists various resources, so I thought that it would be relevant to your readers to list a page on grants as well.

Would it be possible for you to take a look at http://www.schoolgrantsblog.com/grants-for-single-mothers/ and consider linked to it as you feel merited? The page shows single moms what's available and how to apply to different funding sources.

Should you need anything at all I am a real person and actually reply to email.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
Ellen Goetz
